Le Grand (Pinot) Noir 2005

Lately I've explored a few wines from this label, imported by Prestige Wine Group. Usually these wines are labelled as Le Grand Noir but they've cleverly incorporated the varietal into the name.

I've found the wines to be earthy and complex and overall a fine drink. The color separates (showing that it has been properly aged), the nose is deep, earthy and fruity, and the color is right on for Pinot (that lovely purple/red). The taste is strong hints of red cherry with the slightest hint of pepper. This wine retails at about $10 a bottle.

Like many other wines at this price, Le Grand doesn't age gracefully but still provides an enjoyable drink a day or two after opening.
